Community One Resources Development (CORD) Inc., undertakes participatory human and community development to:
•Empower people for sustainable good.
•Facilitate collective actions to lift people out of poverty.
•Facilitate the disadvantaged communities on how to confront their situations through harmonious and relational approach.
•Assist communities in resource accessing to government and private institutions and agencies.
•Build communities, organize and help them develop their own capabilities.
•Promote and initiate environmental protection and care for creation.
Participation
One of the expertise of CORD is the facilitation of problem identification and analysis in the communities through participatory methods, such as community meetings and focus group discussions, to identify the most pressing issues and help them develop appropriate solutions and actions.
Training
Through CORD’s comprehensive training program, community leaders have gained the necessary knowledge and skills to handle financial recording and proper reporting. It includes workshops on basic bookkeeping, financial management and report preparation, as well as hands- on training to ensure that the leaders are equipped to apply their newfound skills in real life situations. With CORD’s support, these community leaders can now efficiently manage their finances, ensuring transparency and accountability in their transactions.
Establish Income Generating Projects
CORD facilitates “savings and loan" programs, by implementing income generating projects in various communities. Just a few examples are mushroom production, organic fertilizer production, rice stock production and farming support programs. CORD provides technical assistance and support throughout the entire process. This ensures the communities can sustain their production and continue generating income. CORD’s commitment to empowering communities through income generating projects has helped to create long lasting, positive impacts in many communities.
Disaster Response
With the support of donors, CORD can quickly respond to emergencies, providing food, water, and other essential supplies to affected communities. The support from Community of Christ members and local donors has been crucial in enabling CORD to provide this much needed services and support to affected communities. CORD’s in responding to disasters and promoting resilience in communities has helped to mitigate the impact of natural disasters in the region.
